shop su and social space

*Shop SU Update*

We'd like to inform our members that our student shop will be temporarily closing its doors as of March 17th. With the current cost of living crisis, we can't currently offer competitive prices for students whilst keeping the shop running. We want to be transparent with our community and let you know that we are currently reviewing the shop as we work to find solutions, and this temporary closure will allow us the time to do so, as we strive to ensure we are offering affordable and high quality food options for our students.

We will still be offering students free hot drinks and lunch bags as part of our Cost of Living Campaign until the end of term, and the My Coffee Station machines will remain open for hot drinks.

It's important to us that whilst we take the time to undergo this review, we still continue to offer students regular lunch options, and we can think of no better way to do this than by supporting our local businesses, so we’ll be continuing to welcome vendors to have a stall in the social space, such as the highly popular Norwegian Bakers and Crumbs Alive cakes and treats, alongside some other fantastic small local vendors, and we'd love to know who you'd like to see next!

Apologies in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, students are at the forefront of everything we do and we do not take decisions like this lightly without your best interests in consideration.

Our friendly Front of House staff will still be available at the front desk for queries regarding the use of the social space and general enquiries.

The Social Space offers comfortable seating of different varieties, including charging stations, so whether you're studying or just chilling out there's the perfect spot for you.

The pool table and tennis area offer a welcome break between studying and a kitchenette with a microwave is also available.

As part of the social space, SHOP SU offers food, meal deals, drinks, snacks, stationery, clothing and coffee.

And even better; all the money you invest into the shop goes towards funding improvements to your student experience. Improvements you choose.
