Welcome to Move, the ultimate gym experience exclusively for University of Suffolk students! We're thrilled to introduce our fully refurbished gym and studio space, meticulously designed to elevate your fitness journey. Conveniently located under student accommodation Athena Hall - 3 University Ave, Ipswich IP3 0FR.
In partnership with Ipswich Borough Council, Move offers an unbeatable fixed membership rate of just £5 per month. That's right – access to top-notch facilities without breaking the bank.
Step into our workout space and discover a haven for both free and heavy weights. From a Smiths Machine to a full squat rack, we've got everything you need to sculpt and strengthen your body. And that's not all – our array of resistance and cardio machines ensure there's never a dull moment in your workout routine. Plus, keep an eye out for our upcoming additions, including two brand new cross trainers arriving this May.

How do I join?

Click on the Sign Up button above, choose > ‘I’m new to Ipswich Fit and would like to sign up’. (Once you’ve input your details, you will be sent a link via your email to verify your account.)

Once you have verified you will need to:
- Purchase Membership
- Choose Fore Street as your preferred site.
- Choose ‘Athena House Gym’ membership from list of memberships.

Once signed up you will receive an email to thank you for signing up, and a further email that will ask you to book an induction (Please take proof of your UoS student status to the induction with you)

Once your induction has been completed your Athena Hall Gym Membership will be activated
Once your membership has been activated direct debits will be taken (dependant on the date your membership is activated) on either the 1st or the 15th of each month. If you experience problems signing up, please contact icard.enquiries@ipswich.gov.uk
How do I book an induction?

- > Make a booking
- Change site to Parks and Other Activities
- > choose date > add to basket and checkout
Please note : Inductions will be bookable on Wednesday afternoons only

Monday to Friday - 7am to 9pm
Saturday & Sunday - 8am to 8pm
How much does it cost to join?
Membership is just £5 per month.
At Move, we believe in making fitness accessible to all. That's why there are no joining fees – just straightforward, affordable membership. And to kickstart your journey, enjoy face-to-face induction sessions with our qualified trainers, included with your membership. Once a membership is purchased and an induction completed, you will be issued with a gym membership card which will be active from 01/05/24 when the gym officially opens for full use during our opening hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 9pm, and weekends from 8am to 8pm. With staff on hand for 40 hours per week, assistance is always within reach. Plus, once you've completed your induction, enjoy unstaffed access for added convenience.
