Start a Society
If you've got a great idea for a new student-lead group, we want to hear from you. Whatever your passion or interest, running a society will help you to bring like-minded students together, opening you up to a whole network of people you didn't even realise you had right here on campus.
Here's how you get started:
1. Write down your ideas. What will make you stand out? What are your aims for starting a society? What events would you put on?
2. Once you've got a new idea for a society, read through the 'Activities Guidebook' in our resource library. This will give you a good understanding of what running a society looks like and if it's right for you.
3. Make sure you have a minimum of 3 committed people ready to be the President, Treasurer and Secretary. You must have these three committee members willing to step in and run the society. If you're an elected liberation officer starting a liberation society, you do not need these committee members ready and can go straight to filling an application form.
4. Fill in this application form. Once filled in, send it to email@example.com and we'll pitch it to Activities Committee! If your society is approved, we'll provide committee training and then you're all ready to go!
If you have any questions, you can always get in touch with us by dropping into the office or emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
