Students may have seen articles in the news about an outbreak of meningitis at the University of Kent, and whilst there are no reported cases at the University of Suffolk at the moment, the Student Life team have issued a note to all students about staying safe and healthy at university.
You can find full resources on the university's Student Hub, but they also highlighted some information about meningitis:

Meningococcal disease can be associated with other symptoms, such as:
- Severe diarrhoea and vomiting
- Fever
- Aching muscles and joints
- A stiff neck
- Severe headache
- Blotchy rash that doesn’t fade when a glass is rolled over it.

Symptoms vary and can occur in any order. Should you have any symptoms, please speak to your GP or contact 111 for advice.
We advise that you do not attend University or lectures or placements while experiencing any symptoms by placing an authorised absence request.
Any cases of confirmed Meningitis should be reported to the University immediately by raising a ticket in Minerva.

Please stay safe and healthy!
