We're really pleased to say that the first organisations have now signed up as Community Partners for Suffolk SU Connect, making it easier for students to benefit from links in the local area.

We're really pleased to say that the first organisations have now signed up as Community Partners for Suffolk SU Connect.

A month ago, we started talking to businesses, charities and community organisations across Suffolk about a simple idea: helping students feel more connected to the place they study while creating stronger links between the Students' Union and the wider community. Our new Suffolk SU Connect scheme aims to make it easier for students to engage with these places beyond campus, so that they can make a positive contribution to local life.

The organisations joining us as Community Partners share that ambition. They recognise the value that students bring to our communities and are keen to play a role in creating opportunities, building connections and helping students make the most of their time here. These first partnerships are just the beginning. We're continuing conversations with organisations across the county and are excited about growing a network that benefits students, partners and communities alike.

Our first Community Partners are:

  • East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH)
  • Halo
  • Ipswich Central
  • Ipswich & East Suffolk Hockey Club
  • LEA Property Solutions
  • Outreach Youth
  • Sickle Cell Suffolk
  • Suffolk Archives
  • Suffolk Mind
  • Unity Eats
  • Zerra

If you're part of a business, charity, community group or public sector organisation and would like to find out more about becoming a Community Partner, we'd love to hear from you.

We'll also be sharing more about Suffolk SU Connect and our wider ambitions when we launch our new strategy this week on Thursday 2 July.

For now, we'd like to say a huge thank you to our first Community Partners for getting involved and helping us build something that will make a real difference for students and communities across Suffolk.
