Here is what I will be working on this year:

1) Prioritising the safety of students around campus and the town

2) A better graduation experience

3) Better car parking and public transport deals

Here is the manifesto that I won my election on:

Hi everyone, I’m Rachel and I’m standing for re-election to continue being your President.

Over the last year, I have been presented with challenges, exciting new ventures and the opportunity to meet and talk with many of you.

This role is like no other and the last year has shaped and moulded me as an individual, as well as your President. However, one year is not enough and there is so much more I hope to achieve and work on with you. I feel more equipped and empowered than ever to continue pushing forward your voice and seeing a real change at the University of Suffolk.

I’ve watched the Students’ Union grow and increase its presence and engagement across campuses physically, as well as digitally and I really believe this is just the tip of the iceberg. The more we can shout about who we are and what we’re doing, the more of an impact we’ll make. I’ve witnessed students actively campaign and fight for their rights; something that was never a priority before and now more than ever, our voices are being heard.

While so much has been achieved as a collective, there is still so much to be done. I haven’t always got it right, but I always try my best to represent you and magnify your voice.

In light of this, my manifesto points are based on student feedback.

If you vote to re-elect me, I promise to:

- Maintain a good and effective working relationship with the University

- Continue to improve representation across all campuses

- Continue to be an activist for student rights, internally, locally and nationally

I will also work towards, in consultation with you:

- Better car parking and public transport deals for University students

- Prioritising the safety of students around campus and the town in conjunction with the university and local authorities. This will include the introduction of a ‘safe taxi’ scheme

- A better Graduation experience

I’m really looking forward to the prospect of representing you for a second year. If you have any questions about my manifesto, or how you can get involved in my campaign, please contact me J

Best wishes,
