Your University of Suffolk SU Competitive Sports teams

 

Here at your SU Sport we currently have 4 teams entered in BUCS (British Universities & College Sports) and 1 team entered in the local FA league. We are constantly looking to grow our sporting side with new sports scholarship the development of team and individual sports, if you would like to sign up or form a new sports team/individual sport, then feel free to email our new Sports and Activities Coordinator Tiffany Evripidou to express your interest.

BUCS Women’s Netball

Our Women’s Netball team was one of our first SU teams formed in 2008, with team successs including; 2nd Place BUCS Netball 2011-2012 South Eastern 9B, 1st Place BUCS Netball 2013-2014 South Eastern 10B and 3rd Place BUCS Netball 2015-2016 South Eastern 9B. The current team plays in the BUCS South Eastern 9B on Wednesday's playing the likes of University of London Goldsmiths and Anglia Ruskin.

Join your University of Suffolk Women's Netball team every Monday at Goals at 6:30pm for open coached netball training sessions. New players of all abilities always welcome! Meet at your SU at 6:15pm to walk over to Goals or message the team's Facebook page / President Lucy McCurdy to arrange a suitable meeting place.

 

BUCS Women’s Futsal

Founded in 2017, your Women’s Futsal team have maintained their place in the BUCS South Eastern 1a league for another season, with aims of placing top 3 in the league and having further success in the Futsal Trophy played all across the country. The teams’ successes include placing runners up in their Newquay sixes 2017 tour and runners up the Regional finals of the FA People’s Cup in 2018.

BUCS Men’s Football 1st

Founded in 2008, this men’s BUCS team has gone from strength to strength, with successes including; 1st Place BUCS MARS Football 2011-2012 South Eastern 7D, 2nd Place BUCS Football 2015-2016 South Eastern 6D, 2nd Place BUCS Football 2014-2015 South Eastern Conference Plate and the recent promotion to South Eastern 5D after winning the 2017-2018 South Eastern 6D league.

New players of all abilities always welcome along. Meet at your SU at 4:45pm for car sharing or message the team's President Casey Emblem to arrange other transport requirements or for any further questions.

 

 

BUCS Men’s Football 2nd

After the success of the men’s 1st team and the Men’s Monday night team last season, we have managed to enter another men’s football team into BUCS. Our 2nds play in the BUCS Football 2018-2019 - South Eastern 7B league every Wednesday against the likes of University of Surrey and University of Essex.

FA Women’s Football

After a challenging start to forming the team, your newly founded UOS Women’s Football team currently play in the FA Suffolk Girls & Women’s Football League. This team was formed on the basis of increasing and maintaining women’s participation in football, along with enjoying physical activity and offering an option of ladies to join a sports team environment – yes that includes sports socials too!

If you need assistance with travel, please message the team's Facebook page or the team President Amy Yeldham for travel options, including car sharing and taxi arrangement.
